We will consider prose, poetry, fiction, book reviews, photos, and paintings; historical or current; humorous or serious.
We also welcome suggestions. Tell us what you like/dislike about previous issues. Tell us what you'd like to see in future issues.editor@midhurstsociety.org.uk

We received copies of Issue 34 (Autumn 2021) on 2 December 2021. A little bit late for Autumn - our apologies.
Hooli Design have again produced a stunning magazine, and as ever the contents reflect a wide variety of subjects, lavishly illustrated. In particular, don't miss the photos taken at the Members Garden Party hosted by Philip and Jean Jackson! Have you been captured in an unguarded moment?
The magazines will appear in the usual outlets and in the letterboxes of subscribers over the next week or so.
Copies can be ordered for £5.50 (including P&P) for delivery in the UK.
Pay by cheque or by bank transfer to

Comment received on #34:
"Many thanks for the magazine, which arrived this morning. It really is beautifully produced and far more professional than most locally-based publications - a far cry from the old days of local newsletters produced on Roneo duplicators! The articles all seem relevant and look interesting. The emphasis on local history makes it far more than just a survey of 'what's on' and pieces like the wonderful illustrated letter from 1882 really bring the past to life. You obviously have quite a substantial audience and it's impressive that some 2.000 people saw your mystery [Facebook] photo of Cocking Lime Works." ~ AJ

This issue also includes an article by Jennifer Chevis, in which she recalls memories passed down through her family of HG Wells in Midhurst. The article helped to solve a problem that researcher Lisa M Lane had encountered: what was the connection between 'Young Bertie' and Mrs Allin? Mrs Allin was Jennifer's great grandmother. Unfortunately, the article did not clarify which house in South Street Bertie had lodged in with Horace Byatt, and that mystery remains unsolved. You can see Lisa's research here
