Giles White studied music at King’s College London and singing at the Royal Academy of Music before starting his professional choral career with Chichester Cathedral Choir in 1995. In 2006 he became the baritone Lay Clerk in St George’s Chapel Choir, Windsor Castle, singing for the daily liturgies as well as performing with the choir and as a soloist at various royal and state occasions, on recordings and broadcasts, and on tours throughout Europe, the USA and South Africa.

In addition to choral singing, Giles has taught singing in several schools including the Royal Academy of Music (Junior Department), Portsmouth Grammar School, Charterhouse, and the University of Chichester, and he was Head of Musical Theatre at Chichester College. Since moving back to Chichester he has built up a thriving private teaching practice.

As a choral director he was previously assistant conductor to The West Sussex Philharmonic Choir, chorus master for Chichester Festival Theatre’s production of The Barchester Chronicles and, for thirteen years, musical director of Fernhurst Choral Society. He currently conducts the Rogate Choral Society.
